Wow! Fantastic place! Very plush rooms with great staffing. We booked ahead and the hotel offers the option to check-in via the website. I checked us in on the drive and when we got there, I gave the desk clerk my name and our keys were ready.
This hotel was renovated fairly recently, with mixed results. We found it rather stark. The staff were all very nice. The front desk is very small, which we think could be problematic in a hotel of this size. Also, parking is very limited on-site, with overflow parking in a garage across the street. Not bad, but it was raining very hard when I had to go get our car, so that was inconvenient. We were happy to see there was central air...that is until we turned it on. It was very loud, much too loud to try to sleep through. Maintenance said all rooms were like that. Not good. The breakfast buffet was only adequate and very disorganized. Empty fruit bowls, no replacement of breads for the toaster, etc., and the scones were burned and very odd...sort of like thick Pop Tarts. Great bacon however! Some of the best I have had. Overall some good, some bad. The downtown location is good...near some nice food and drink options.
Room options were vast. Our view wasn't the best but the hotel does have a nice views. It's close to everything you might want to do. We didn't roam much because my kids stayed in the pool for as long as they could every day. My husband and his friend tried out the gym. He said it was really nice, too. It's a great place to stay and I am now going to book DoubleTree for future trips.
We got to our rooms quickly and we received a complimentary cookie. Now, it might seem like I am exaggerating, but that is probably the best cookie I've ever eaten. It was hard not to take the kids', lol.
The room was very clean, no noise, air worked great. Hotel was very nice for me and my family. Kids loved the cookies we got at check in and live the elevator. We would defiantly stay here again.
The price was very affordable and we really had a great time staying there.
I've attended several events here. Some went smoothly, one did not. This event was a night event that ended abruptly early because event msnagement was not available to inform the wait staff who were confused about a number of things. The head wait staff promptly shut down the event and sent people away early. Some people did not even get ro eat because the wait staff stopped bringing food. This was a ticketed event.
One of the nicest hotels in a sleepy town. Local brewery across the street is good for drinks. Plenty of parking, but in an odd, abandoned building next door.
