A few weeks ago a homeless man stabbed a jogger just feet from this park in the adjoining National Historic Site. Both places are not adequately patrolled or policed. Walk at your own risk!!!
Awesome place. Multipurpose trail. Wide enough for bike riders and walkers. Benches, a couple cover resting areas along with drinking fountains, sculptures, a bridge and more.
Modern facilities. Great view of the Arkansas River. Downside about the park, it has a resident population of homeless. They sleep behind the stage, on the stage and on benches near the river. If you visit before 9:30 AM you will certainly see them.
A great place, ft. Smith should utilize it more..dragon boat races, chalk art on the sidewalk, have a "West Fest" (Western festival) downtown. The room is there and opportunity..might as well use it.
It's a quaint little area and a good spot for any event. Love the open area concept.
Very nice venue. We walked along the river and enjoyed a sunny day. I bet a concert here would be great.
