A friend took her beloved pet to Davenport (I can't address him as Dr) because she wasn't acting herself and hadn't been eating well. Turns out she had a common illness that female dogs can get when they haven't been spade. Davenport gave two options: medication or emergency surgery. Well first, if it was an emergency, why offer an option of medication??? My friend decided on surgery thinking that was the best thing for her pet. Although in good health, she was 10 yrs old and Davenport said he didn't expect problems, she was an older dog. She came through the surgery fine, but when she was picked up she was very weak. They sent her home and within 2 hours she was dead. They never even made a courtesy call to see how she was feeling. When confronted about what went wrong, Davenport had NO compassion what so ever and even tried to make my friend out to be a bad pet owner because she asked "how much the surgery was going to cost". In these days and times, who isn't concerned about the cost of things and who wouldn't ask?? This is a so called doctor that has no compassion and I strongly believe he did something wrong and wants to place the blame on someone else. So I strongly advise anyone against taking their pets to this place.
I've been talking my pets to see Dr. Davenport for years. He and his assistant are great, compassionate people. I'll never go to anyone else.
